The State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt announced, in a joint statement, their decision to form a joint committee headed by the foreign ministers of the two brotherly countries with the aim of continuous consultation and strengthening cooperation and coordination in all fields.
The announcement came during a meeting held on Monday, Mar. 28, 2022, in Cairo between HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Shoukry.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between them in various fields.
The two sides praised the work of the members of the joint bilateral committees emanating from Al-Ula statement and the completion of their work in an environment of professional mastery and fraternal spirit, through which a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoU) were signed, and a consensus was reached on the topics on their agendas to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries and people.
Both parties valued the level reached by the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and their return to their normal state and solid origin.
