The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the attack that targeted a checkpoint south of the city of Mosul, Iraq, and resulted in the killing of two policemen.

In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm position on rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of the motives and reasons.

The statement expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to the families of the two victims and the government and people of Iraq.
