Qatar Back UN's Call for Humanitarian Truce in Libya

The State of Qatar has announced its support for the call, made by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), for a humanitarian truce on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, and welcomed the Government of National Accord's acceptance to the truce.



Qatar prevails over the UAE in trade dispute at the WTO

On 8 August 2019, the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the World Trade Organization (“WTO”) received a formal communication indicating that the United Arab Emirates (“UAE”) has withdrawn its WTO dispute concerning certain alleged measures adopted by Qatar. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation released a statement confirming that the UAE formally backed down from their case. The UAE’s failure in advancing this dispute against the State of Qatar demonstrates that the allegations made against Qatar were false and baseless.





Qatar Condemns Explosion in Cairo

The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the explosion that took place in front of the National Cancer Institute in El Manial area in Egyptian capital Cairo, and led to deaths and injuries.




Qatar Informs UN, Security Council of ICJ Decision to Reject UAE's Request for Interim Measures against Qatar

The State of Qatar has informed the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General of the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on 14 June 2019 to reject the UAE's request for interim measures against the State of Qatar in the case concerning discriminatory measures by the Government of the UAE against Qatari nationals. The decision was supported by 15 judges.
