UN General Assembly Chooses State of Qatar to Facilitate High-Level Meeting on 25th Anniversary of Fourth World Conference on Women

The United Nations General Assembly chose HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the UN Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani and HE Permanent Representative of New Zealand Ambassador Craig John Hawke to facilitate and lead consultations with Member States that will lead to a high-level meeting on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women.


Qatar Condemns Attack in Northern Sinai

The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack on a security zone south of El-Arish, northern Sinai, which resulted in the death of policemen.






UN Assistant Secretary-General Praises Qatar's Positions on the Syrian Issue

HE Assistant Secretary-General and Regional Humanitarian Coordinator for the Syria Crisis, Panos Moumtzis, hailed Qatar's positive attitudes towards the Syrian issue and the Syrian people, and its continued support to the United Nations and its competent agencies, praising its implementation of all its humanitarian obligations to the various international organizations.


Qatar Stresses Need to Face Acute Challenges of Climate Change

The State of Qatar stressed the need to confront all threats and severe challenges resulting from climate change and its impact on the scarcity of water resources, adding that the challenges facing agriculture in ensuring global food security and the sustainable management of natural resources were multifaceted.



HH the Amir Directs to Support Pakistani Economy with $3 billion

Upon the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani announced new investments in the form of deposits and direct investments in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan worth a total of $3 billion.
