HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi held on Sunday bilateral meetings with a number officials on the sidelines of the 18th Doha Forum.

HE Foreign Minister's special envoy for Counterterrorism and Mediation of Conflict Resolution Dr. Mutlaq bin Majed Al Qahtani said there is a general feeling in the Arab region that Europe is not doing enough for the central Middle East issues, despite its ability to play a bigger role, especially in the siege of Qatar, the Syrian issue and what is happening in Libya and other parts of the region.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met separately with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu, HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Sudan Al Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed, HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif, HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Taro Kono, HE Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya Monica Juma, and HE UK Minister of State for the Middle East at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Alistair Burt, on the sidelines of the 18th Doha Forum, currently held in Doha.

The State of Qatar has welcomed the agreement of parties of war in Yemen on the cease-fire in the city of Hodeidah as an important step towards ending this absurd war, which the brotherly Yemeni people suffering , and praised the active role played by the UN envoy, Martin Griffith, in bringing together the views and making this round of negotiations a success.

HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi stressed the role of Qatari diplomacy in the success of the objectives and principles of the United Nations in maintaining international peace and security.

The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted a market in the city of Strasbourg in northeastern France and led to deaths and injuries.

The first round of strategic dialogue between the governments of the State of Qatar and the People's Republic of China was held today in Beijing, where the two sides held comprehensive talks on bilateral relations in economic, security, cultural and tourism fields.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met in Beijing today with HE Yang Jiechi, member of the Political Bureau and director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
